Ingredients
- Eggs 4 large
- Onion 1/4 cup
- Green Chili 1 whole
- Fresh Cilantro 2 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
- Red Chili Powder 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Black Pepper to taste
- Cooking Oil 2 tbsp
- Bread 4 slices
How to Cook
- Finely chop the onion, green chili, and fresh cilantro. Precision in chopping is key for even distribution in the omelette.
- In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs. Add the chopped onion, green chili, cilantro, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk vigorously until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is slightly frothy.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
- Pour half of the whisked egg mixture into the hot pan. Gently spread it to form an even layer if necessary.
- Cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes, or until the edges begin to set and the bottom is golden brown.
- Carefully flip the omelette using a spatula. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until it is cooked through and lightly golden on the second side.
- Transfer the cooked omelette to a plate.
- Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan and repeat steps 4-7 with the rest of the egg mixture to make the second omelette. You can toast the bread slices in a toaster or the pan while the omelettes cook.
- Serve the hot Indian Masala Omelettes immediately with toasted bread.
